


Mike Bolin is a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Alabama, and attended elementary and middle school in Birmingham and Homewood. He received his diploma from Shades Valley High School and went on to attend Samford University where he earned both his undergraduate degree and J.D. Justice Bolin practiced as an attorney for 15 years before being elected Probate Judge of Jefferson County where he served from 1988 to 2004. He authored the Putative Father Registry law, ensuring the protection of rights of all parties in adoption cases, and resulting in Justice Bolin receiving the national “Angels of Adoption” award in 2000 for his service to adoptive families. Elected to the Alabama Supreme Court in 2004, Justice Bolin has stayed active within the Alabama Probate Judges Association, his community, and his church. He, along with the support of his wife, Rosemary, and their daughter, Leigh Anne, is committed to upholding justice in his community and ensuring the rights of all citizens.
